2 P.M. — Bowie State Will Host Prince George's Classic

The Bowie State University football team will make its home debut against Lincoln University, the nation’s oldest historically black university, in the cornerstone event of the fifth annual Prince George’s Classic on Oct. 4.

Among the Gazette's highlights. 1. There will be a golf tournament, battle of the bands and step school.
2. Health and fitness will be a theme.
3. Bowie Stat was 3-7 last year.
4. Potomac gradaute Andre Palmer will vie for the starter quarterback line at Bowie State.

Further evidence:Bowie State is led by team MVP and senior co-captain Tristan Martin, a running back who was second on the Bulldogs in receiving yards last year. The Bulldogs have several county standouts in their incoming freshman class, including Gazette-Star First-Team selections Andre Johnson (Surrattsville High School) and defensive back James Proctor (Suitland).
